Piano Sonata No. 14 in C Sharp Minor, Op. 27 No. 2 ("Moonlight")
Will you please take your fingers and play me something I have never heard before? People do not say "I love you" through trills for Elises and Emperors, and even if some do I have heard those words already. Teach me something new. In your never-silent mind, find a prayer for Romeo and Juliet to say goodnight to. Send me dreaming awake out of the city and through the gardens where you hear. You can block out your reality like a stereo turned all the way up; I think you can give me and people who don't seize God as tightly as you do the same release. Will you tell me what makes you happy, what permanent life lives in your distraction? I will forget my gravity and I will go sliding across the moonlight and I will swim in your C sharp minor river and I will not want to wake up.
